Event Dates and Films
The Tuscarawas Valley Film Festival is an event that celebrates the art of film making while also supporting our local Big Brothers Big Sisters organization. These 4 nights in September will consist of double features that will begin at 6:30 pm each night. Food and beverage venders will begin serving before each evening at 5:30 pm.
The film festival will take place every Thursday for four weeks at the Quaker Cinema in New Philadelphia, Ohio. The dates are September 7, 14, 21, and 28. Beginning at 5:30 PM, audience members can purchase food and drinks from Park Street Pizza and Hoodletown Brewery prior to the shows each night.
Nestled in downtown New Philadelphia, the Quaker Cinema has supplied cinematic entertainment since 1940. Originally, the theater contained one massive screen in an auditorium that seated over 800 people. In the 1980s, the theater was converted into two screen to accommodate multiple movie showings. In 2015, the exterior was restored to the original marquee and the interior was modernized with a retro feel.
